keeping stock deck???
i got a 99 4dr civic ex and wish to keep the stock deck and get a after market deck. only thing is that i wanted to install the after market deck near the cup holders and keep the stock deck on..how would i do this??
I did exactly the same thing, except I left the stock deck powered up & connected to the front speakers.
I tapped into the power & ground off the factory harness & ran them down below. I was running a 4 channel amp so those were the only wires I needed to extend/run.
If you don't care about having the factory deck powered, then you can simply unplug the deck, and unclip all of the wire clamps that hold the harness to the various dash pieces. The factory harness will reach down to the cupholders then.
