IPOD ?
so i been driving my car without a deck for some time due to the fact it blew out. but from what i have seen, not to long ago some one hooked up there ipod to there system Amp and Subs and i cant seem to find that Post can some one update me on this? i rather save the money since i already have subs and a amp. and instead of buying a new deck
Get a headphone to rca adapter, and plug that into the iPod and amp respectively. Then connect the remote wire from the amp to a power source through a switch (accessory off the key would work), and you're done.
If it is high enough to drive a set of headphones it is high enough to drive a car amp.
As for being an "enjoyable experience" that depends on the listener, SQ will not be very good as it would be amplifying an amplified signal, but if connecting directly to the amp it is the only way to do it to have any kind of control, [besides volume], for better SQ you would need to use the preamp output of the docking port, [docking port to RCA adapter], and yes there is enough "voltage" from the preamp output to drive an amp, although a preamp control of some sort is needed, [like a HU with AUX input, or ideally a HU with iPod control].
