i currently have a clifford matrix 3,5 2way pager alarm...
but my remote went south...

i found a local selling brand new viper 479v 2way paging remote...and was wondering if it is interchangeable with my clifford...

This is a good question, I would like to know as well. My guess is probably no but we shall see.

 

Looks to be the same as my 791XVR's remote... I bet it would program up no problem.

 

I don't think it will work. From my experiences remotes are rarely interchangeable, but I've heard that vipers are one of the more flexible brands.

 

I personally think it will work fine. I had an older Python 880xp and I came upon a 479X remote for a Clifford Matrix 3.5 and it programmed just fine and worked with no hiccups. It was also a newer 479x with the program button on the back. I haven't tried with the 479V, but with the experience I had I think you would be fine...

Furthermore, some remotes are interchangeable... I mean you can't get away with a compustar on a DEI unit. But I have used Python Remotes on Viper 2 button alarms, Hornet remotes on Python alarms. Hell even a Valet 562T Remote start remote on a Viper alarm... Just program each button to what you want.
