Default How to: Turbo timer with alarm

Hi guys! I have not been on this board for a while but just dropping by to say whats up and to give a little help to some. Well I been asked many times how to hook up a turbo timer to a car with an alarm. This is actually pretty easy because the alarm will arm as long as it does not see a voltage on the ignition wire. All you need is a relay to get this mod to work.

How this relay is wired it bypass sending voltage to the alarm ign wire when the turbo timer is sending power through its ignition wire. As soon as the turbo timer shuts off and so does the car the relay makes the contact with the alarm ignition wire and it does not sense any voltage.

Sorry I hope it makes sense I got a pounding headache so im not thinking straight.

Why not just buy an alarm that has a turbo timer built into it. Alot of the high end Directed electronics alarms have the turbo timers built in to their units. Just a thought.

Two questions...
What about the impact sensor?
How do you get ign. power from the turbo timer to the cars ign.? 94

Some ppl dont got remote starts on their cars or some ppl are not in the market of buying new alarms.

What about the impact sensor? I do not understand what you mean by that. Also the turbo timer send a voltage out when it is on so it activates the coil so it allows the power to flow for the set time through pin 87.

The impact sensor, [if installed and adjusted properly] would be triggered by the vibration of the running engine.

I understand that the turbo timers ign. output is used to trigger the relay to open the ign. input to the alarm to prevent the alarm from triggering.
What I do not see is how you connect the ign. output from the turbo timer to the cars ign. to keep the engine running

Please do not think I am giving you a hard time, your idea is a good one, your right, not everybody that has an existing alarm that wants to add a turbo timer wants to or can afford to replace the alarm, [that would have to be an alarm remote start combo unit, not just another alarm] so an inexpensive way to do so is a good idea, I have done so more then a few times, again a good idea, but what you have posted would not work, your on the right track, you just need to think it through a little bit more.

I could tell you, but then it would not be your idea.

Hint #1 all sensors that can trigger the alarm with engine running must be "bypassed"
Hint #2 a tricky one. the cars ign. circuit needs to be powered by turbo timer but it can not be a parallel connection with the relay as the relay would then be on anytime the ign. is on. 94

I can see what you mean by the shock senor. I just over looked my paper drawing and I didnt not draw one wire leading from the factory ignition to the turbo timer ignition with two diodes in line. I am doing a turbo timer install today so ill double check my drawing and revise this drawing.
