Default how does this amp question work?

Im planning on getting 2 12" subs for my other ride, And I want to get the best sound/power out of them. So I'm thinking of going with 2 amps as well? I would guess mono subwoofer amps? So if I did that how do you connect 2 amps to my battery?

You have to buy a distribution block...it simply just allows your main power wire to to the trunk whole then splits it into 2,3,4+ power wires...as many as you want. Just be sure to run at least 4 guage wire to the d-block, then from the d-block to the amps run at leat 8 guage depending on what amps and power they demand. Before you hook anything up check back with what ya got, aight

A good mono amp will give you plenty of power for both subs. You shouldn't need two.

Agreed, I would only reccomend two amps if your 12's are DVC.

Why would you recommend that?

You must have a DVC sub in order to run two subs off of a mono amp

Just get 1 big amp, it should simplify everything. You can run 2 SVC subs of one amp as long as the amp is one ohm stable.
Best idea is to choose your subs first and get back to us with more info, or better yet talk to an audio store.

look, you know you want two 12 inch subs.

you only need one decent amp, say maybe about $200-$300.

most amps are rated to go only as low as 2ohms, a lot of people have gone down to 1 ohm, (say with v-drive crunch mono amps that are designed for it), but voiding warranties, pushing amp into clipping and losing sound quality is not a good idea. STICK with 2 ohm.

OK, so you could go with DVC or SVC. two 4ohm SVC's subs, the amp will see 2ohm if you hook them up in parrallel. with DVC, you must buy the dual 2ohm version most companies make, then series each voice coil to the other one to bring each sub to 4 ohm, then parrallel both subs to let the amp see 2ohms again. Or like I said, buy DVC 4ohm's and make sure amp is capable of 1ohms.

dont buy audiobahn you can get so much better for the same $$$ you are basically paying for the looks... i made the mistake of buying them.. they are junk... get on like the sounddomain.com forums and look around, they can steer you into a much better direction...

True, but for most 2 channel amps you will have to bridge it to run them which essentially gives you a 1 ohm load.

get 2 DVC 4 ohm subs bridge them each down to 2 ohms and most 2 channel amps will be stable at 2 ohms and give you a lot of pwr or you can get a digital amp thats stable at 1 ohm

That should work, run them in series which will present the amp with a 4 ohm load then bridge the amp.

hey as long as your happy , i just feel there is much better quality out there fo the $ching$ you pay for those audiobahns, generally when a company goes mainstream the sell out and the quality isnt what it used to be (I.E. rockford fosgate and lanzar) look for underground companys or stuff that not main stream, like adire, RE, image dynamics, and elemental designs... there are many more companys out there that are much better quality and are the same price or cheaper, and arent over rated (in terms of power) like audiobahn. im not trying to bash im trying to inform from my knowledge and past experience, its your $$ so whatever you do enjoy your purchase...
