can someone tell me how to bypass the ebrake block, so i can watch tv on my car? i have an indash, i dont want it for me, its just that my baby likes watching cartoons and i want her to watch it.
i had the installer leave the wire out, and all i had to do is ground it, remove it and add it again.
can anyone help?

Why not just connect it the way you are supposed to and back off on the "E" brake adjustment a little so you can set "E" brake to first "click" without actually applying the brake.

I own a Dual dvd player and have problems as well. I will be driving and then ground the wire and sometimes i can watch the movie. While other times it is working then i turn my car off and back on and reground the wire and the dvd player wont let me view the movie. Or i have to unground and reground the wire a few times in order to make it play. Why is this?

Why not use both a switch to bypass the ebrake. That way you could still use the ebrake. Never heard of an officer checking to see if video plays. It would be impossible for him to enforce. Kinda like searching your car without your permission.
You prolly need to hook the parking brake wire to a toggle switch, then toggle switch to a ground so you can reset the ground easily when you want to watch it.
With audiovox/jensen/phase linear in dash's you actually have to do it in timed intervals of 2secs each with a toggle switch (on 2secs-off 2 secs-on). With pioneer units you need a toggle switch, but you just have to do on-off-on with the toggle switch if that makes sense.

I have a Kenwood DDX-6019 and all you have to do is ground the green parking brake wire. Like stated before, it's closed loop so as long as it's grounded it works. Now, some of the new alpine's are a bit complicated, but they have switches for those.
The ebrake should be adjusted according to the factory manual. Also, it needs to be maintained over time as the braking system is made up of wear components. It's not something to be taken lightly, and I sure as hell can't stand parking a car that has a loose ebrake, especially if it's manual trans.
Toggle switch is cheap, easy, effective, reliable. It's the right way to do something that is so wrong.
btw can we never have this topic again? It comes up once every other week. If you can't figure it out, you don't deserve to have it. It's so simple! A basic understanding of how it works is all you need, and that much is self evident. The ebrake has a simple switch on it. Emulate the switch.
