Default hood lock question

can anybody describe how an electronic hoodlock works? is there a way that it can still be defeated by a theif? (i.e. reaching to cut the cables)

i haven't heard of a hoodlock before, but i'm sure youve seen those electro magnets that hold doors in buildings together? im sure you can get one to run off 12v, some of them take 1000+ pounds of pressure to open..

Well I haven't heard of an electronic hoodlock.. But I know DEI makes a mechanical hoodlock. The part numbers are 565T for 5 feet, 566T for 6 feet, or 567T for 7 feet. I haven't installed one yet so I am not exactly sure how it works.

Hope that helps a little.
