High Output Battery Question
I just bought a 130 amp alternator because mine was bad. The thing is, my battery has been near-dead for so long because of the weak alternator that now it cannot retain a charge for very long. I am interested in getting a higher output battery. I believe the Civic battery has 450 cold cranking amps. I am looking to get one that has 650 C.C.A. Is there any downside to doing this? Will this be detrimental to my electrical system or audio system in any way? I remember a good friend telling me in the past that it is not a good idea to go over the manufacturers original output on the battery. Any advice??
High output? or high capacity. High capacity=more amp/hours, high output=more VDC output.
There is no downside to using a higher cap battery, but it is a moot upgrade since the only thing it allows is for you to use the system longer before the battery drains.

I recommend a Optima Yellow top Deep Cycle battery, it is perfect for your car, I have one and is an awesome battery for cars with a lot of accesories to run.
I've had a yellow top optima for 2 years. I have a large system with Four 15' subs in a sub wall. I've drained the batter down dead a bunch of times. And it charges back up every time. Love it. You can also mount it anywhere since it is sealed. Just my opinion though.....
