Default high level input vs. rca input

what is the difference between high-level input and low level (rca) inputs? i'm hooking up an amp to power my speakers and i wonder if i need to run and buy 2 sets of rca for this 4 channel amp of mine or could i just use the high level input instead? i'm not cheap as those rca's are probably only $20 but just wondering what is the difference in them. TIA -td

High level = speaker outputs
Low level = cleaner signal for an amp

Use low level if possible.

thanks. so using the high level output will only create more distortion in signal hence should be stayed away from?

Just a TIP:
Try to keep them at least 18" from an power source in the vehicle, best to run the power and remote wire down one side & all signal wires down the opposite so as to eliminate the chance of inductive coupling.
