Hey question about new deck.
Hey, I just bought a civic eg and the guy said no cd player and I asked him if it still had the harness to hook it up and all. He said he didnt think so.
Do you think he doesnt know what Im talking about or the owner before for some reason doesnt have the harness?
If it doesnt have the harness, how hard is it to just wire the whole system?
Thanks

Why don't you check and see if there is the harness. If there is then you can just go to any auto store and buy a deck, a fitting kit, heat shrinking tube, heat gun, wire strippers, screw drivers ( Phillips and flathead because it is a honda and a flathead can get you very far by just popping things out ) and you should be on your way to hooking up a nice non whitetrash deck. If he doesn't have the harness im sure you could purchase one but you will have a lot of work ahead. Try the junk yard.

Its not hard you can buy a wiring harness adapter for the year and model of the vehicle for 15-20 dollars, a long with some wire connectors/twisters from Home Depot, then if the vehicle has its oem harness plug the adapter into the oem harness and connect the colors from the radio to the colors of the adapter and it should work. 10 mins tops and its done.

You're kidding, right??
Are you referring to wire nuts? They have no place in a vehicle.

Yeah they don't lol. Use crimps. Im not talkin about that harness. That is easy stuff. I meant like the harness that is on the car that connects to an adaptor. I dont know why it wouldnt have it but If it doesnt I'd have to wire everything again through the whole car.

There is no reason, [unless you are buying it from a real dumbass] that at least the stock radio harness, if not the stock radio plug, will be there.
If the plug is there all you need is the adapter harness...

Depending on the HU you have you may be able to get one of these...

They are plug and play, no need for any connectors of any kind.
If the stock radio plug has been cut off, you will have to "hard-wire" the HUs harness to the cut radio harness...

Use red butt connectors and a crimping tool...

No, you do not need 100 of them. 94

Re: Hey question about new deck. (fcm)
lol thanks. I think I will be fine. I will just wire up a new harness to my deck ready to plug in if it has the harness so I wont have a silent trip home. Silent (except for the sound of my huge turbo)
