HELP!!!! Viper 560XV issue
I have a simple question about a Viper 560XV My remote is somehow now only programed to Arm/Lock car and the other 3 buttons are useless. It used to work like a factory keyless entry system works before. So if i unplug constant and switched power from the alarm will it reset? If at all possible can you give me better directions as how to reprogram the remote back to the standard configuration. Ive tried setting it back but somehow it went from having separate lock/arm, unlock/disarm, aux, 2nd channel output (usually remote start right?). But now the Lock button does nothing, and the unlock button only locks/arms with no disarm. so i had to unlock my car with the key, bear with my 3 sirens and disable the brain. I dont have battery backup yet. Waiting till i upgrade to the 2-way system. So DEI's instructions confused me and i dont know how to set it all back to Factory configuration. Somebody please help me out.......
Thats the same manual i have tried this and it fucked up so now i only have the lock. I need a better understanding on how many times i push the valet.
No, it wont reset the remote. If you disconnect the negative from the battery, it will reset the alarm brain. But it wont affect the remote programming.
As far as how-to reprogram the remote, all I can do is copy/paste what the manual says.

I have the manual. But im not sure if doing something wrong when im programming. it seems to be programming like it has a 3 button remote and i have a 4 button remote. so my lock button on my 4 button remote locks and unlocks. I cant figure out the programming so they are back to theyre own separate buttons. I think im not doing the valet part right. but i cant be positive.
Before you do anything, delete all transmitters, open door, turn ign. to run, press and release valet/program button 14 times, press and hold valet/program button until system chirps.
Try standard configuration first, open door, turn ign. to run, press and release valet/program button 1 time, press and hold valet/program button, press and release button I, [lock] on remote, release valet/program button.
If that does not work, try the below, after doing the above, [delete all transmitters]
1- Open door.
2- Turn ign. to run.
3- Press and release valet/program button 2 times.
4- Press and hold valet/program button.
5- Press and release the button on the remote you want to control lock/arm, [button I, lock].
6- Release valet/program button.
7- Press and release valet/program button 3 times.
8- Press and hold valet/program button.
9- Press and release the button on remote you want to control unlock/disarm, [button II, unlock].
10- Release valet/program button, your done.

Kinda unaccesable.

You definitely have a wiring problem, [or alarm problem] turning on the ign. when alarm is armed should trigger the alarm into full alarming mode.
What is the MM&Y of the car it's in?
Is the car a standard or automatic?
Is the remote start connected?

94 Honda civic coupe, Manual trans, no remote start.
I armed the alarm with the door open and nothing went off until i bumped the shock sensor. I was turning on the ign when i was holding the valet switch to try and set it into valet mode. but after further reading in my manual this isnt how valet mode is set.
The issue is ill have to remove my dash to get to everything and repair the issue.

If you do not have the remote start wired, [remote start satellite relay pack] I would be willing to bet you do not have the alarms ign. input connected, [why alarm does not trigger when ign. is turned on].
Alarm is not supposed to trigger if you arm it with the door open, it ignores the doors but still arms the other zones.
Valet mode is... turn ign. on, then off, then press and release valet/program button, however the valet function will also not work if ign. input is not connected.
Emergency alarm turn off will not work if ign. is not connected, or will feature programming or transmitter/receiver learn routine™

something happened when i was trying the reciever learn and i lost all power to my ign. so im guessig the relay thats buzzing is the culprit but could be wrong. all my relays are stashed away where the brain is and unaccesable w/o pulling my dash.
Then you have a problem with the ign. switch, [no ign. (black/yellow) or acc. (yellow) output] or the power going to ign. switch (white) possibly a main fuse in engine bay fuse box or maybe the ign. harness has come unplugged.
Until you fix that problem you are not going to fix the alarm problem.
The first thing you need to do is check for power on the white 12V+ ign. switch input lead and then on the black/yellow and the yellow with the ign. switch on.

PS, you should also have mentioned this in your OP, it would have saved a lot of time.

Maybe an ign. disable relay installed on the ign. lead has gone bad or has a connection problems.
The problem is obviously alarm related or alarm wiring related, you are going to have to get at the alarm wiring and the relay(s) you are going to have to connect up ign input anyway.

I found out the issue i was being dumb its a 650xv not a 560xv.
Found a bad connection at the starter disable, and Remote was programmed fro the wrong style remote wich means different Alarm model and it meant different Programming modes.
