Help with rattles
I just installed an Infinity component speaker setup in my 00 Civic Si. The speakers are run through a 200w amp and an Alpine HU. They sound good, but the woofers in the doors rattle EVERYTHING. I don't think Dynamat will work because they are mounted in the door panel and not the door itself.
The rattles are killing the sound quality. The window rattle, the tweeter pods rattle. What has everyone else used to lessen this annoyance? Thanks guys.

Maybe the door panel clips are loose and the panel itself is rattling against the door? If so, Dynamat could help, or you could just replace the clips so the panel is tight again...
As far as the tweeter pods go, I suspect the same issue as above; the clips are loose. You could make sure the clips are "expanded", meaning that the "V" of the clip is spread out so it holds tight against the hole in the door panel... Or, maybe you could use a small bit of expanding foam to hold it in place, and to insulate the pod from the door?
There's not much you can do with the window, except for making sure the two 10mm bolts that secure the glass to the bottom plate are tight...

If the clips don't solve the problem then you may want to consider building some wood baffles to mount the speaker to so you'll minimize the transfer of vibrations from speaker to its mounting surface + things that are attached to that mounting surface. I've got an integra and have 6.5" midbass in stock locations but have 3/4 inch baffles + quite a bit of sound deadener
One question......does it rattle both the inside and outside door panels? If so the sound deadener should at least help reduce/eliminate the rattles on the outside of the door
Rattles suck though....I've got one last one to take care of.....rear wing. It's annoying as well. I think I'm gonna have to add more to the hatch area near the wing since wing really isn't an option. It took 2 rolls + a trunk kit + 2 door kits to get to this point.

Thats the truth. In my 93 hatch, I mounted my Type-R components to 2, 1/2in MDF baffles. Then sound deadened the entire door. I don't have any rattles in the doors. But I still need to fix the sunroof rattles, and the rear wiper housing.

Medium Density Fiberboard.
You can find it at Lowes or Home Depot. Just ask an employee they will know what your talking about.
Most stores sell 1/4 size sheets, I'd buy the smallest amount possible to avoid leftovers.
If you don't want to make them, you can buy them here.

Select Products is a very reputable company that sells and makes almost every part and tool you'll need.
This is the only picture I have, but you can see how the speaker is mounted to the rings. And the rings are screwed to the door itself

^^
Thanks a lot. The only thing that I am worried about is that on the 96-00 civics the speakers mount to the door PANEL, not the door itself like on your 92-95 civic. Can I still use this approach and if I can, will the speaker covers still fit right?
