Help with neutral safety switch input - Python 1400XP remote start
I'm trying to install a remote starter in an automatic 1996 Accord Sedan . I've got everything hooked up except for the door locking stuff, hoodpin switch, and neutral safety switch. The car will beep and flash the lights when I press the lock/unlock buttons on the remote, but will do nothing at all when I press the start button on the remote. The car starts fine without using the remote starter.
My main question is:
Exactly which wire do you guys hook up the neutral safety switch to and where is it?
Thanks

You do not need to connect to the "neutral safety switch", Honda/Acura automatics will not crank engine unless in N or P, you must however ground the NSS lead, [H3/1 black/white], what I do is install a small switch to supply a ground to the NSS lead, black/white and use it as a service switch, the NSS lead needs to be grounded for the remote start to work. 94
HAHAHA
Im trying to install a cheap chinese crap carvox full 2 way remote/alarm I paid 10$
I have the same problem that make no sence at all...
Carvox Install manual told me to connect the H4 pin5Black/White to the safety switch - input and also the parking brake...
First of all it make no sence at all cuz the safety switch only allow the +12 to pass from inside car to the starter and they claim it a ground - input or I dont know. Can some one plz explain
connected a ground to +12 its damaging the car and it make no sence

So what the guy over said its just ground the wire and forget about neutral switch and parking brake...
No need to put a switch why would I put a switch on this grounded wire???

There is no specific NS wire on these vehicles.
The starter wire on autos run directly through a switch in the automatic gear select lever which is interrupted when the car is in gear.
These would be the blk/wht and blk/red 10 gauge wires at the shifter in the largest of the three connectors.
This is also a much better place to do a starter kill than under the dash as the relay can be placed way up under the cup holder near the firewall. PITA to get to.

OK cuz the parking brake switch is +12 volt and power a red ! ligth in the dash when parking brake is pulled...
Or you remove the ! ligth and +12 volt and allow the parking brake switch to be grounded when pulled without any + 12 volt and open loop when parking brake not pulled, so it can tell alarm electronic control unit that the parking brake is pulled(grounded) and it can remote start.IF you didnt pull the parking brake(open loop) the electronic unit realize that is wire is not grounded and wont allow a remote start...
OK so usig a switch to ground this wire instead of the parking brake switch save you 2 hrs of time...
And the guy above completly say bull **** and scrapped this forum...
The guy FCM talking about the service grounded switch was the only good mechanic with me in this thread

If you think the parking brake signal is going to interrupt your starter, just go ahead and install your RS this way.
I'll be standing by in the paint/body and welding/fabrication forums after you realized this wasn't a smart idea.

You can use the park brake switch, or install a toggle switch or just ground the lead.
If you use the park brake switch or a toggle switch, either one most be on for remote start to work.
Just grounding the lead is the simplest way to deal with it, Honda/Acura engines with automatics can not be cranked unless in park or neutral.
Axatax this has nothing to do with starter interrupt, OP is dealing with a NSS, [neutral safety switch] lead on a remote start unit. 94
