Default Help with 96-98 Civic Security Control Module!

Well as stated above, I own a 1998 Civic LX 4DR, with factory alarm system. I have just purchased this car, and the first thing i was told about the car is that the alarm did not work.

This is what happens: as i leave my car, I activate the alarm by holding the door handle open and locking my doors, emitting 4 loud beeps, and then once i shut my door it is followed by another loud annoying beep, the car is then secured. BUT, whenever i come back and try to open my car, there is no way to avoid setting the alarm off. I unlock the door and I have to quickly press up on the door locks to turn off the annoying alarm.

Well i checked the handheld device for dead batteries and determined they were fine. I also have an aftermarket head unit installed in my car and the OEM unit with the security module is tucked under my climate controls, I have heard from friends that it is possible to reprogram it yourself, but i searched on here for the thread and to my dismay did not come across it.

Now my question is, Is there a way I can reprogram the alarm myself or is that a dealer only thing? Any kind of info or link would be great!

Cliffs
-Alarm not working
-Batteries aren't dead
-OEM Headunit tucked behind climate controls
-Alarm ringing annoyingly
-Trying to reprogram but can't find any info on subject

hmmm for some odd reason this did not work, imma have to check if all the connections to the OEM radio unit are still intact and no wire is being crossed. also, i don't know if this is just my remote, but P/N number on the back of my remote does not match the one it is supposed to have, but it didnt match any of the other P/N numbers on the entire site! worst come to worst, imma have to buy a new remote and redo all the connections on the unit! any more ideas?
