I'm thinking of upgrading my stock Acura CD player headunit (r.i.p. p.o.s.) to something fancier.

Being paranoid of theft as I am, will any thugs still bother to steal my headunit if I've removed the faceplate?

 

If they know what kind of face goes on it, then they might want it. It's pretty much useless if you don't have the face.

 

i wouldnt worry too much. if they are goign to break into your car they will. No matter what Hu you have

 

Yeah they'll get in if they want to regardless...sadly...

 

i used to have a sony deck before some bastids jacked it. the ringer is that i bought the HU at a store that offered a full replacement. if you still had your faceplate but your chassis unit was stolen you could go back to the store with the face and they would give you your chassis back at no charge...but my dumb 455 left it in the car and so they got everything...
