Default Headunit Questions/Recommendations

Just looking for a great headunit that has an MSRP of under $250. A local electronics will definitely have it priced below $200, which is exactly what I want.

The headunit itself has to have subwoofer control. A friend of mine said that a number of the Pioneer headunits don't offer that feature. I looked it up online, but couldn't find out what companies call that feature.

That local electronics store has pretty much every Alpine, Kenwood, Sony, and Pioneer headunit out there.

Any headunits you guys think I should look into? Any help provided will greatly be appreciated.

Id probably go with the new Pioneer DEHP3600. Its an overall nice radio, with sub-control. Funny thing is, the "sub-control" on a Pioneer radio can be switched from low frequency to full range output depending on what applicatoin you need. Other than that, 50w x 4 MOSFET amp, XM ready, remote control, multicolor display, flip down, detacthable face. Right at $199.99 also. Check it out!

The Pioneer is nice, but a little busy IMO. For that price you may want to look into the Alpine CDA-9825. Retails for $230, simple display, easy to use (especially if you are always adjusting the bass!) and no display with lights bouncing across the dash. Also, 3 4V preamp outputs for easy addition of amps down the road. Plays CD and CDR, but no MP3. You can always play MP3's using an IPOD, etc through the decks aux in. Regardless, stick with Alpine or Pioneer and you'll be OK

Try JVC. They make an Arsenal radio w/sub woofer control for less than $200.00
I don't remember the exact model right now...

thats a new model year, check the magazine itself for the deals. THe new ones are going to be expensive. I was telling you about one with pretty much all those features, execpt it was the flip down face for the cd insert and had no internal amp. TALK ABOUT SWEET. i wonder how much the hard drive HU is gonna cost.

I just got the Alpine 9811 for $220 on ebay. It's pretty good the only difference between it and the 9815 is wattage of the built in amp, aside from that it's the same deck but $75 more for retail.

Alpine and Pioneer make good decks. Personally I shoot for Alpine cause I like their crossover, sound to noise ratio, plus they look nice. But both are good.

i have always been a sucker for pioneer, check ebay for some great deals on pioneer, maybe you can get a good deal on pioneer premier models

and yes, the in-dash does have sub woofer control

mostly all of the pioneers have sub woofer control..

i recently purchased a pioneer for my uncle from ebay seller sell2all, great service i know he has to have some good pioneers in stock...fast shipping too

goo' luck...but with an in-dash you can never go wrong...
