Default headlight on warning light

Alright well i tend to have 2 very bad habbits that need to get broken, I tend to very often leave my keys in my car and my headlights on. Sometimes I swear my headlights turn themselves on...

So my question is is there any way to set up a warning light that will come on if your headlights are on? or just stay come on inside the car the whole time the headlights are on? would it be as simple as just hooking up a wire to a hot head light wire and running it to a bulb inside the car and just grounding it? also what about a warning light for leaving the key in also?

Really easy, actually. Go to your local auto parts store and get a 12v bulb or 12v LED. Get one with some sort of mount.

Attach one lead from the bulb or LED to the Red/Green wire from the headlight switch, and the other lead from the bulb to ground.

Mount that bulb where you can see it, and voila. Instant headlight on indicator.

You may want to wire in a small switch to turn it off at night though... Might be annoying.

Use the park light free pin in the under dash fuse box.

You said your drivers door was messed up...

Why not just fix the door, I assume you mean the door pin-switch?
