off-topic question. Would an ipod adapter sound better with an aftermarket deck like alpine, or would it sound the same if I got an adapter and hooked it up to my stock integra deck?

BTW your stock deck is an Alpine

Yes it can, only the 41, 43, 45 can not, and the IVA-D901 is not, but then it's hard disc drive ready. [it don need no stinkin iPod]
the CDA-9853 and the other 11 current Alpine CD HU are iPod ready, 2 of them are CD/DVD flip out screens and there 1 lone cass. TDM-7582 is not, [but who cares], you can check out the whole Alpine line at http://www.alpine.com

Alright, I know what you're going to say to this... but I swear I didn't put a Sony HU in my Accord... So my dad just bought another Accord, and it had a Sony CDX 5510 HU already installed. He would like to be able to use the ipod with it. What is the best way to do this/can it be done? Never really worked with Sony before..... thanks guys

There's only one head unit that works well with the ipod, and that's the pioneer avhp5700dvd.
The only problem is that it is a $1000 flip up touch screen, and I can't justify spending $1100 just to get my ipod working.
Unless you want to spend that much money, I personally just recommend doing an aux-in.
All the other head-units I've used with the ipod are just slow and a pain in the *** to use (yes including the new alpine's)
.
As far as the panasonic goes, I assume there is an adapter to convert from whatever their changer plug is in to 2 rca jack's.

.</TD></TR></TABLE> BRRAAAhahahahaha! the Alpine KCA-420i adpt. will work on all but 4 of Alpines current models, [most well under $1000] Alpine iPod ready HUs also have Media Xxpander used to restore the iPods compressed signal, and to top it off Alpine offers downloads of the latest iPod software and help in getting the most out of your iPod, when interfaced with an Alpine iPod ready HU, Alpine is so far ahead of everyone else in Ipod interfacing, the rest don't count.

Check with http://www.panasonic.com or maybe one of the aftermarket adpt. makers PAC, Blitzsafe, Soundgate or Scosche at http://www.staub.ca/tech/appguides.html

I didn't say the kca420i won't work, I said that it doesn't work well.
And as far as alpine being ahead of everyone else - of course. I have used the ipod interface on most of the new alpines, including the 9855 etc, and it just plain sucks. For the user that just uses playlists all the time - sure, but for the rest of us that have 100's of artists we want to individually select on our ipods, the scrolling is just way too damn slow.
I say avhp5700dvd or aux input. The other's are just a waste of money imo.
