*****NOOB ALERT!!*******

Ok so this is my first time installing my own stereo so take it easy

I have recently bought a '95 del sol and the original wiring harness was cut out leaving just the wires hanging where the HU will go. So I just bought a aftermarket HU and in my head im thinking I match up the hanging wires to the corresponding wires on the new HU. correct?if so what's the best way of doing this? Thirdly I don't see a antenna cord like there was in my old crv does that mean no antenna wire was there before or is it lost behind my dash.

Best way is to solder and shrink tube, although a properly crimped butt connector will also work well.

Twisting wires together and then covering with tape is a poor way to make electrical connections, they will eventually fail. 94

It would be much easier and cleaner looking if you can pick up a stock (male) radio harness from the local junkyard and solder the wires. That's what I had to do to my old Del Sol.

You can get the male connector at the junkyard or through www.Metraonline.com. They have those harness at Best Buy but can be pricey. Check out ebay for lower prices.

I think that adding the male connection to it will be more work cause i will have to add the connection then the other side aswell so I am going to just hardwire it in seeing how it is just a beater anyways and not my tuner as of right now....

Yes it is possible....very possible for similar color wires performing different functions. You need a meter and a 1.5v amp battery to test.

As mentioned, yes it is.

If the stock plug has been cut off the harness, the easiest way to find which is the power ant. control lead is to touch the white w/yellow or blue stripe to the brown w/white strip, the ant. will go up when you have the correct brown/white, as long as the red w/yellow, [right rear speaker (+)] is not connected to anything you can not hurt the speaker by putting 12V+ to the brown w/ white, [right rear speaker (-)].

If ant. does not go up, touch the terminals of a 9V batt. to the red/yellow and the brown/white leads, when you have the correct brown/white, [right rear speaker (-)] the speaker will "pop". 94

There ar two (2) fuses for the OEM radio harness, sorry do not have the fuse numbers or locations for a 95 DelSol, there is the "+12 volt ignition wire", [yellow/red] the fuse for it is normally in the under dash fuse box, there is the "+12 volt battery wire", [white/yellow or white/blue] the fuse is normally in the engine bay fuse box and almost always a 7.5A fuse marked "backup". 94
