looks like my alternator is on its way out searched around found a couple of old threads but no info on people using them, car's audio is at 1000 rms what alternators have you guys used? Thanks for the help
I've used scosche alternator's in quite a few Ford and Chevy RV things for customers. The last one I did was a 250 amp output and it puts that out at a fairly low rpm. This ran to a yellow top under the hood, and also to a scosche 500 amp relay that then fed two yellow tops in the rear (which had a 2000 Watt rms/4000 peak pure sine wave inverter that ran a Yamaha receiver, two 36" TVs... on with a custom done flip down mount inside so it was like an overhead video and one on a custom mount outside hook to the existing ladder which the Guy could remove the TV easily... a HD direct TV receiver and IR extender, a bluray player and some other goodies).
Even if you ran the rear yellow tops down (about 2 hours play time before the inverter got close to the turn off point) it didn't take too long for the alternator to have everything charged up again.

I would like to know too anybody?
Bought a 165 Amp off of a good seller that has great feedback on Ebay about 5 years ago. Still going strong. Not that expensive.
The OEM series at DC Power aren't that expensive either.

Dave put an alternator on my integra 15 years ago before he started making his own. DC Power used to be called Dave's DC Electric.
Call Dave and he will give you a few options or visit, they are Riverside about an hour away from Long Beach.

i've use loadbosss alterstart alternator on my 00 civic si, they work pretty well, i had it for about 6 months so i can't tell you how long they last, but it did fix my dimming light problems. i read on a few forums that a few people had alterstart alternator and it died on them after a year or so leaving them stranded.
you get what you pay for.
i now have a crx and am looking for one myself. was thinking of going with DC Power their quote was 410 for 180amps max/ 110-120 at idle

It was so long ago. I can't remember if this is the guy or not. Feedback history looks pretty good though.
