Default Good Components?

I'm looking for a speaker. Preferably a component speaker, that can get really loud with little to no distortion. Play 75% classic rock 25% rap. I'm willing to pay about 250$ or so a set. I was looking at the Boston Acoustic Pro 6.5 inch off of egay. But what else is reccomended? Also if you havent heard it with your own ears please dont reccomend it to me. I dont want to know what your uncles friends cousin heard and said sounded well.

Edit: Also my radio im currently running is an Alpine CDA-9851, i'll be running whatever I decide on purchasing on an amplifier also. Not off the deck

Thanks

Imo the pro's sound like poo. If you're buying off ebay or the like I'd recommend some Diamond Audio D661s's or some Boston SL65's.

MB's tend to have a smooth highs because their tweets are made of silk.

Mb's smooth? Maybe but they're still bright as expletive. A lot of people I know have put carpet over those tweeters to tone them down lol.

In a 3 way setup it would be less of an issue, assuming relative closeness between the mid and the tweeter, but even still....

I had a set of qsd's for all of about a month and then promptly got rid of them, and I'm in the business

Which model of Quarts' tweets are made of silk? They're all titanium.

my fault.. they are all titanium.. which is sort of a happy medium between aluminum dome and silk..

I'm partial to Focal's. I have the Utopia 165W's in my coupe. One pair, and one 10" sub. Sounds great.

You really think so? I honestly think aluminum tweeters are less brash than titanium.
