Default Friggin trunk!! Rattle!!

How do I get my trunk to stop making that rattle when I turn my bass up? You cant hear it from the inside but when you walk around to the back, you can tell. Just kinda want it to stop... Thanks!

You have to figure out whats rattling and then you can figure out a solution. I had a problem where the dealer failed to put in the bottom 2 bolts of my lisence plate holder so that rattled against the metal of the plate. Worked for me.

Basically take off the rear panels and everything in the trunk, then put dynamat everywhere you can see metal. You should do that to your doors as well since they're likely to rattle too.

If you're on a budget, there are cheaper alternatives to dynamat.

Try Brownbread or Rammmat both available on ebay or at b-quiet.com the stuff cheap, and basically exactly like dynamat. I personally just bought 70sq ft of brown bread and will be posting pics of my entire install (browndread, alarm, leather, speakers and false floor for trunk) as soon as I finish but so far the stuff looks great!

Here's my ghetto contribution.

1. Take off your licence plate and cut a piece of cardboard out to match it. Put your licence plate back on with the cardboard behind it.
2. Get electrical tape and wrap some around your latch, about three revolutions. The latch where the trunk lock hooks up to.

This has worked for me for years!

before i matted my entire car it used to rattle like crazy. i did 2 layers on the entire trunk and doors and now i get no more rattles at all. i laid down a layer of dynaliner to reduce road noise as well

I but "Dynamat" all over the back and bottom of my trunk. I also put it directly on my licence plate. My trunk hardly rattles now. I used some wannabe dynamat from partsexpress.com. it worked good.

It's all about the 70ft2 roll of brownbread!
http://www.b-quiet.com/brownbread.html

Just a hair thinner than Dynomat extreme, but 1/4 the price. 1 roll did my whole trunk 1 1/2 times and my front doors 1 1/2 times. It is heavy **** for you weight conscious people, just guessing but that roll was probably 30-40lbs
