Im in the market for some new speakers. I have the Diamond Audio HEX components which are okay. i dont really like them too much though. Im looking at a few here.

Focal Polyglass V2 - 165V2 - $289 on ocs.com
MB Quart QSD216 - $599 ocs.com MSRP - $1100
Focal Utopia 165W - $589 ocs.com MSRP - $1200

A couple things first. The prices are unreal. Is this the real thing? Im very sceptical on this kinda price. Lets say they are. which woudl you go with? I dont want TOO bright of a tweeter. GOOD MIDS are a must cause the HEX's are lacking.
Any of Focal or MB Quarts i can go with that sound very good? maybe another series?

 

focal and MB quart tweeters can be more "bright" if they are not tamed. some frequency might need to be lowered though an EQ (not always, even the headunit might do the trick) to fit your taste. If you can find a Lotus Reference 2-way set for around the same price as the MB quart and focal (utopia), then i would rather get the lotus. Then again, your taste might differ from mine.

 

One thing for you to think about. There are no online authorized Retailers for Focal. So you might not be getting what you think you are. If they are real and you have a problem with them expect not to have any warranty. I have focal Utopia's love, wouldn't get anything else, well maybe Boston Acoustics Z6's which are really good as well.

I know what the Q series sound like. holy **** they are bad ***. Do the Focals sound as good? Utopias. Onlinecarstereo says that these are indeed the real thing brand new? Is this true????
