Default Fiberglassing Vertical Surface. Possible?

Friend bought a 93 civic hatch and the rear bumper is molded on. Now that is a problem because there is exhaust holes for a dual exhaust, Friend only has a single.

Would I be able to just place the fiberglass on still or will it sag down before it hardens?

Any help appreciated

just fill it as though you were patching a hole doing bodywork.
