Last night I walked up on some guy breaking into my car. He is protected by law, so I had to let him finish doing his thing because he refused to leave. Police never showed up.

He was trying to pull my windows out to reach for the locks. I have no locks. He then tried to pop my hood by reaching through my lower grill and unclipped the hood release from my rad support.

2 things, anybody block off all access to the hood release latch using aluminum plates? and if they "DO" get into your car, has anybody routed the hood release to the other side of the car [passenger], and effectively hid the lever?

I live in the most liberal state, 3 weeks ago a police officer and I walked out to see the damage done by theives, and the theif was parked next to me swapping parts. Not enough evidence to convict because the officer didnt see them touch my car and "for all I know you just sold them those parts"
