my brother has an escort 8500 and we just recently noticed that the sound is extremely quiet. of course we checked to see if the volume was turned all the way up, yet it still doesnt make much noise. i use to have an older escort and it had the same problem (but it got stolen). does anybody else here have that problem, or do you know how to fix it?

Could be a dirty speaker. Might try cracking it open and blowing out the speaker...

 

if you have the manual, it shows you that you can change the tone so its louder when it detects something.

when we bought the radar a few months ago, it was loud all the time, including startup. now it is soft all the time, including startup. the only explanation i can think of is like a faulty speaker or some ****.
