engine noise in speakers
wtf ... this came all of a sudden. had no problem before and now it started. i have a pioneer speakers amped. the gain is turned all teh way down and still i hear engine noise when the ignition is on the second click.. and also at full start.. but not with just one click.(accessory). pilarities (spelling)are correct.
it started today after i tested a pair of speakers. i disconnected the other ones i had and hooked up the ones i was testing. when done testing everything was fine.. then later i was driving and i heard bad crackling noises and pops so i turned off my headunit. i opened my trunk and looked up at the speakers ... i think the wires touch the rim.(its metal) and grounded together or something. could that start the problem??
how can i fix this?

Good luck, alternator whine is the hardest thing to get rid of without spending time to rip out all the existing wire.
I'll go down a check list of what you can do in your car to fix this. My buddy and i spent a half day re-wiring his eclipse after he installed a 4 channel amp for the speakers, he got whine real bad.
**Note** Alternator whine usually is from when your headunit or deck, or some wire is grounding out on the chassis.
1. unplug rca's from the amp. (check for whine)
2. if there is no whine, the problem usually lies within the rca's. My suggestion is to upgrade to nickle plated RCA's.
3. If problem persists, unplug, check to see if you amp is grounding out.
4. If this is not the case, check to see which speaker it is coming out of. If all of them, remove the amp from the system and run them off the deck.
5. If this fixes the problem, the problem is in the amp.
**You can also check the connections on the deck as well, (I.E. ground at the HU)
Solutions to fix:
1. Ground loop isolator
2. RCA's
3. New Speaker Wire
4. Dynamat under the amp to prevent grounding.
These are the only things that we tried and finally got it to stop after running new rca's and dynamating under the amp.
Good luck!
