Default electrical geniuses help me out

ok so i just did the ap1 s2000 cluster retrofit into my 96 civic and i have it set up so that it goes thru a quick disconnect plug my issue is not with the cluster but with the lighing and speakers though after the install when i turn on the headlights or running lights i get a poping/crackling sound out of the speakers and i loose the sound from the radio till i turn off the car and remove key and restart how ever when its on a cd i get the poping sound and the sound comes back almost immediately and switch to the radio no sound on radio. ive tried removing the cluster at the disconnect point and it still happens. if i have the lights on before i turn the key to acc or on i keep the sound untill i turn ithe lights off then on and it does it again.

any ideas i used the wiring setup i found here on HT for an ap1 cluster. only ones i did not connect were the rear foglight indicator (b2) the engine cloolant temp (pending modifryer ect converter fundage) and the low fuel indicator light.

Not sure what your problem is but the first thing I would check is dash harness grounds. 94

Well since the wires to the radio runs in the harness that you tag the cluster into. I willing to bet that you grabbed one of the speaker wires some how. Some of the color of the radio harness is in the cluster harness. Ie. illum, and driver front speaker.

Didn't splice that far into the harness I kept within 2 or 3 inches from the cluster connectors and didn't open up the harness covering but still trying to figure it out I think I'm gonna start over and undo what I had connected before
