Default Electric Wiring?

Hello everyone! I have a Honda Civic EX 05.

I recently tried to replace the stereo. Everything is all wired up and installed, however, the stereo does not turn on. Additionaly, some other strange electrical issues have occurred.
  • The wireless remote to lock/unlock the doors no longer works
  • I can lock all the doors if the car is on, but if it's off, I have to manually do it (not talking about the wireless remote)
  • The alarm to warn you that the headlights are on no longer works

Any ideas what this could mean?

Thanks everyone.

The actual factory alarm and remote door locking receiving unit are both tied in to the factory head unit. So, in removing the factory head unit, you have disabled both.

If you want to retain these features (and your dome light), you need to wire your new radio in such a fashion that these features are retained. You'll need to keep the OEM radio somewhere in the car, too.

Metra, maybe others, makes a very long harness to allow the OEM radio to be placed in the trunk, under the rear shelf.

it's an 05, not a 96-98

check the fuse boxes.. the fuse that provides constant power to the radio also provides power to the keyless entry module.
