recently i took out my eclipse cd player(blue rotary volume **** one) because it kept skipping or something like it when playing cds. it plays for a couple seconds then no sound, then repeats. like it's having trouble reading cds. everything else works fine. does this mean that i need to clean the lens, and if so how do you do it? or is there a deeper problem?

on another note, i replaced it with an older sony xplod deck that a friend gave me. it plays fine but skips when even small scratches are on the disc. my eclipse and all my other cd players played all these cds fine. is this cd player just old? or is it a dirty lens again?

 

dude i have the same problem. Every other CD player plays the discs fine but my Xplod won't if there are little scratches. I've tried using the CD lense cleaners and no luck. Do I have to take it out and manually clean it?? ******* Sony...
