Dynamat Install Help
I just ordered my new speakers, 3 way Audiobahns and they will be here Monday! I bought some dynmat for the front 2 speakers, and I am wondering how to install it. Must I remove the door panel? I have never actually taken it off, so how do I go about that?? Any help on this stuff is much appreciated! Thanks!
door panels need to come off-pretty easy just screws, plastic pop in pop out things and a clip you pull out under the window crank(unless power) you can use a special wrench for the clip or pick at it with a small scewdriver. put dynamat all over the damn place
Make sure you clean the area you're gonna be dynamatting (denatured alcohol or Acetone). Watch your hands on the aluminum backing. Don't cover up any holes that shouldn't be covered. Covering every square inch is unnecessary (like putting your hand on a symbol, it stops making noise even though your not covering the whole thing). Get all the bubbles out.
use a heat gun / hair dryer for best results over uneven surfaces and smooth it out with a roller...you can use the dynamat on some of the rest of the door when your done with the speaker areas to help reduce road noise..
I'll post pics as soon as I'm done my hellish dynamat/audio/alarm install, car is currently stripped like woah.

your going to have to pop off the door panels.. like w/ anything you stick that needs adhesion (sticker, paint, dynomat, etc..) to the surface. you must make sure the surface is clean and dust and oil free otherwise its not going to stick... for the odd/bent surfaces..there is a wooden roller for you to work the dynomat into the non straight surfaces...you can also use a heat gun to soften it and make it stuck better as you go over it w/ the roller...
Thanks guys, I have never removed my door panels so that should be fun... post pics when you're done! I should be doing this sometime this week
