Dynamat alternatives
Are there any dynamat alternatives to sound 'proof' the rattles from a subwoofer? I heard about using a Home Depot product but forgot what it was. Thanks.

Why not just use the dynamat?
<-- Just did his doors with Extreme on Saturday.

Here is my suggestion. Go to home depot get a roll of REFLEXTRIX. Get spray adheasive and glue it on your pannels, rear deck spare tire well, and then spend a little more on something for your trunk lid. %100 effective, cost me $20 for the roll, $2 for tape to tape the edges down, $12 for spray adheasive. This also completely gets rid of street sound. It made my bass sound way tighter, and my trunk doesn't echo and resonate near as much as it used to. Best $20 I have ever spent. The trunk lid is different, it could be just that I have 2 15's firing straight up into it, but the whole thing just flexes on the beats.
Anyone know anyway to stop my rear window from flexing?

I use "Roxul Safe and Sound" which is treated wool sound insulation. Stuffed it into the body panels from the front door jamb back to the trunk. Road noise is down and rattles are down. Good stuff, but make sure it's always dry.
i've heard the old floor mats from semi trucks works really well, at least for the floor. they're made of an asphalt and rubber mix very heavy, very cheap (junk yard). they keep a lot of road noise out. just an idea...
i tried "peel & seal" in my car because of the same question that is posted. i have quite a few customers come through my shop asking about cheap alternatives to dynamat. what i found is that it takes 2 layers to match the performance of dynamat extreme in the same situations. but then again, for $100 shipped for 100sq feet of the peel & seal off ebay compared to $100+ for 33sq feet of dynamat extreme it is ok. eventhough that i am satisfied with the alternative, i would recomend dynamat.

Just go get peel n' seal. I did two layers on my hatch, one on my plate, and one under my CTR wing... Works great and cost ~$30... Of course I don't have retarded bass... I'm only doing ~400WRMS to 1 12"...
