Default Dynamat: 2 or more layers?

I was wondering how many layers of Dynamat that people put on their car? Right now I have 2 layers for the passenger floor. Is more layers required for a reduction in road noise?

2 should be fine. If there's still noise, it's probably coming from elsewhere but a third layer can be applied if desired.
On another note, how come everyone else's Dynamat installs are prettier than mine was? >_>

In response to your question about pretty installs, Did you use a roller? I didnt but I did use an assortment of sockets(in place of a roller, for me it works better for dips and curves) and a heat gun. I didnt lay the whole piece of dynamat down at one time, i lad it down as i heated it and pressed it to the floor(this helps prevent bubbles). A roller/sockets and a heat gun makes its easier to apply.

Mine looks better because underneath i have a few pieces of dynamat that are placed perfectly next to each other but on top i have one big piece laid down.

Im going to do the whole floor, ill see how it goes.

Yeah I did, I'm just not artistic. :-) A second layer would probably make mine look better, but eh, I tossed some aftermarket carpet over instead.

2 Layers is fine, I put some extremeliner in as well. For most of the noise you want to make sure you do the rear and the doors really good too.

How much dynamat did u use total? and how much of a difference did it make? I did my rear passenger side door and passenger side floor. definitely going to have to buy some more dynamat

I have at least 4 bulk kits and it makes such a big difference.

Older cars seem to make more noise in age, When i had the old teg I did one layer and did not seem to have a problem. Hair dryier and a roller to make sure it was on there good.

Only the cheap knock-offs do...and the stuff people use from HomeDepot/Lowes....i still have no idea why...

This will be my 2nd bulk kit in the car, the first one went toward the trunk and front doors(one of which i had to redo, little of a wreck but i was able to replace it and paint it myself at a friends body shop).

Im guessing one more kit should do it for me
