Default Door Poppers.... :(

I went to get into my car that i parked for the winter and i tried opening my door with the remote and nothing happened on either door. I tried my backup switch in the back and nothing happened... what would make it so they wouldnt open they opened when i parked my car for the year.... is there anyway to get into my car without busting a window? Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!

definitly sounds like the battery is dead. Slim Jim or coat hanger look like your options.

I take it your back up switch is electric as well then its more than likely a dead battery. If your relays are under your hood or somewhere you can get to them you can jump two of the terminals with 12 volts and it should open if it doesnt get out your hammer and go to swinging

how's he gonna pop the hood when he can't open the door :S

maybe you should open your Yellow Pages and call a locksmith. It's cheaper than replacing a window

Josh R. </TD></TR></TABLE>What we do is leave the key hole on th drivers side in place and change it from lock/unlock to doorhandle, [ so the key works like the doorhandle did] or ron a long cable,[ like hood release ] into the door, connect to same place as "popper", other end someplace under car, the other thing we have done is to install a power plug, [like the ones you see on demo cars] so you can plug in a power supply or batt. This only works if the problem is just a dead batt. and not something wrong with the door popper system, a manual way is more failsafe 94

Thanks for all of the good ideas.... I did manage to get my doors open because i had ran a popper switch to the trunk so i could get into my car if i locked the remote in my car and i hooked one of my optima batteries that i never use to that and popped it open directly... so luckily it was just a dead battery but i would like to get a mechanical way to open my door for the next time its not the battery!

Thanks again
