You do not need the keyless entry radio for the keyless entry to work for your alarm. You can get all of the trigger for the alarm at the radio plug. Door lock and unlock and door trigger are right at that plug. So is 12 volts constant and ignition.

i have the viper hooked up to the power door locks. i have the blue alarm wire hooked up to the green/org wire in the drivers kick panel, and i have the light green alarm wire hooked to the green/white wire in the drivers kick panel. from what i know/ have read that is right.

The OEM radio does not contain the "security module" it only has the RF section.
As mentioned your problem is the cars power door lock control unit, have you checked the fuse, [fuse 51 -20A, hot at all times] in engine bay fuse box. 94

ok guys, as you read my previous posts i found no power to the door lock module. i check for continuity between the harness at the kick panel and the harness at the module and had an open. i dug around a little and opened the harnes between the body and the door. found at least 6 broken wires. repaired all wires with a junkyard harness. retested and they work right? well kinda. if the door lock module is dismounted from the door it will lock and unlock the drivers door everytime but the passenger only sometimes. if you mount the module back into the door it does not work at all. you just hear the relay inside the module switching but the locks do not actuate. i did input tests on the module and it passed all the input tests. went to the junkyard today and found another module and it does the same exact thing. i do not know where to go from here so any input is appreciatted, sorry for the long story.

I been seeing alot of issues like this. 2 cars this week at the shop and up here in fresno. Our cars are getting old and the weather plays a big part of it. The door harness is right at the driver tire and all that rain and water gets thrown at the plug. make sure you fill the new plug up with die grease to keep the weather out.

Ok so I fixed the power door locks for anyone that has been reading this. I found that there were frayed wires in the harness that goes to the power door lock control unit. No my alarm still does not actuate the doors. I hooked the wires right to the switch and the alarm provides voltage but does not provide a ground. After a little research I have read of some people using relays or resistors in the wires for the locks. Im lost as to why the alarm is not providing a ground so any input would be a great help. I did check the alarm ground and it is good.
