Default Door/Hatch Sensor Wire Location?

Has anyone installed their own alarm here?... I'm trying to do so, and can't locate the door or hatch sensor (trip) wires! According to my (crappy) instructions, they should be located in the drivers kick panel and at the OEM alarm plug. I couldn't find these in the kick panel (am I supposed to unwrap the large, black wire bundles there?), and the only 2 hot wires at the OEM alarm connector stays so whether the doors or hatch are open or closed!? (And the other wires do not GO hot either!) Do I have bad information or what? Please help, I need to protect my ride!! TIA...

the wires are in the kick panel and at the alarm plug. they are negative trip. so when the door or trunk is open the wire will show negitive not positive.

Thanks for the feedback, g4b17... I realize this is a sensitive topic, but appreciate the confirmation of the wire locations. I DO have the color codes I'm looking for, and suspect I was not measuring the voltages correctly.
Now, if I could only shrink my hands while working under that dash...
