Default Door handle switch

Does anyone know how to hookup or where to buy a door handle switch on a 00 GSR coupe? I want the dome light to go on if the door handle is pulled up, in turn setting off my alarm.
Thanks for any advice.

You'll need to pull the door handle assembly from the door, and figure out how to mount a reed switch or a lever-type microswitch that activates when the handle is pulled up.

Then, you can run one side of the switch to ground, then the other side to the door trigger of the alarm. Don't forget to diode-isolate the new switch.

Yeah, I was hoping someone somewhere had done it, since our cars are such a target. I guess it's my turn.
I'll see what I can come up with. I have to take off my door panels to install some speakers this weekend anyway. A metal bracket with a switch installed may be all it takes.

You can buy spring loaded "pull" switches, kind of like a pin switch, but spring keeps switch open, connect that to the door handle linkage and as mentioned one side to ground the other to door pin lead, no diode is needed as it is a temporary switch and a normally open circuit, no diff. then the doors pins switch. 94
