Default Do speakers get old?

A friend want to sell me his speakers that are 5 years old. They are on the door, so they are not expose the sun. They work, and sound good.

Do speakers get old and wear out?

Late,

So how can we tell if they get old? By the way it sounds? If it sounds good, it's still good, right?

I know this sounds dumb, I'm just trying to make a smart purchase.

There is a lot of wear in 5 years of use plus technology in speakers has advanced in 5 years. Get a new set. They sound good but it may be that if you reference them with a newer speaker they are avarage or poor.
