Different security features....
Aside from an alarm and fuel kill switches what other devices are good and bad? I just throwing out items I came across, while browsing, throw out your opinions or other odd items you may have seen...

Lojack is nice, as to whether it's worth the money I'm not sure, depends on your paranoia level and the area you live/drive/park in.
Personally I think the trans shifter lock is ghetto fabulous. I would love to bolt that thing up in my car... not. Plus on a MT vehicle you can just press the clutch and roll it around.
The wheel locks also seem better at catching parking violators than stopping thieves. I think that the best security systems need to be as passive as possible far as the user is concerned, or they will eventually not be put into practice. On the other hand they need to be aggressive at immobilizing the vehicle where thieves are concerned. Hence the things like immobilizer keys or other "invisible" technology can be very effective.
The only perfect way to prevent car theft may be a combination of RFID technology with land mines, so that if your car is moved when you are not around it will instantly vaporize the thief. Perhaps this could be combined with something similar to Lojack technology to radio for a replacement vehicle before you even know about the theft.

I've seen those alpha locks before. It would be awesome to place them on ALL your rims LOL.
I have heard many good things about them the Early Warning system. At least 15-30 min that the system calls your cell phone/pager/email or whatever you decide according to the Lojack website: the very latest is 1 hour. However, i know someone online got their car stolen within the hour and later one, was sawed in pieces
Check other threads on security and you'll find more information.
At least it's good to know within the hour. That way, you can have lo-jack track to where it is. Once your car moves away without a fob, then that's technically when you should get notification.

reroute your hood cable is another mod you can find on this board.
it's good to have TONS of layers for the thief. If they really want it, do they want to go through all those layers? Maybe maybe not. But just try to cover all your possible points of being stolen and it should be a better way to keep your car or at least get it back in 1 piece. Even if they do steal it, thieves will have to decide, do they want to look for the possible hidden security in you car, or just drive/tow it.
They run a risk but they have to work fast.
