DEI alarm question...
This has probably been asked before, but I ran a search and couldn't find an answer. A friend of mine has a Viper 791XV. When the siren chirps, or goes off it is almost impossible to hear, even if you're near the car. My cell phone is 10x louder. All the wiring is correct as far as I can tell, as everything seems to be working properly, but there is very little output from the siren. Any tips?
Thanks.
Thanks.
It is probably the siren. Get a Mini Piezo siren that put it outside of the car. I had a clifford regular siren and it was quiet as hell until i switched it out for a Mini Piezo sensor and now it is loud as hell.

If it is mounted so that the inside cone can fill up with water, that may be the problem, if you find this, drill a 1/8" hole in the part of the inside cone that is the lowest, if the siren is hooped, go to any car audio shop and check with installers, and see if they have a used one, it should sell for $5 or less , wire it to your car batt. to check, you can do that to the one in the car now to test it.

the inside cone can fill up with water and the result is very low output or no output from siren. I have emptied more then a few of them over the years.
