deck problem (very little sound :()
i tried to install my deck and speakers today. There is sound, but it was very very quiet on the right speaker only. I checked the left speaker and they're conected properly. I even plugged in my headset and it's very quiet as well. Does anyone what the problem is? any help would be great!
thanks!

check to make sure the speaker lead is not grounding out. make sure the fader and balance is centered. Whats the make and model of the car and hu.
it's a 93 civic hatch
i connected the headset right behind the deck where the wires are.
In that case can i assume that the speakers and their wires are fine?
where is the speaker lead anyway? ;p
thanks!

Speaker leads are just term for speaker wires, Did you use a harnes on this or is it hard wired. Did the speakers play fine with the other radio?
okay i tried changing the settings etc but it still very quiet, as if it doesn't make any difference at all.
I found something that might cause it though. I have a blue w/white stripe and a blue wire that is not connected to anything. Should i connect these wires? i know one is a pwr antenna one which i don't have, so i can avoid that, but what does the other wire do? i refer the data given at installdr.com and there is no blue wire listed for the 93 civic. There is only a blue with white strip which wires to the brown and white in the car.
Thanks for the help man!

by the way, to answer your questions, i'll take a pic of what it looks like tomorrow
i don't know all these technical terms (hard wired, harness etc)
i used to have a system back then (deck, 4speakers, 2 amps and 2 subs, and a extra battery at the back) some guy installed it previously and then i got someone to uninstall it. So it used to work

What is this "headset" you speak of?
Are you talking about the blue wire coming out of the head unit? If so this wire is usually the power turn on wire for external amps and this should not be hooked up if you are not using any.
It still sounds to me like a grounding issue on that particular speaker wire or a faulty head unit.

Make and model of HU, [deck] please?
Is it just the HU you installed or did you also install the amps?
The blue/white and blue leads are control leads for power ant. and amp, if you do not have either one you do not need the leads.

The HU is a Panasonic CQ-C1300
I only hooked this up and a pair of speakers as well.
When i say i used a headset, i meant that i basically hooked up the headset wiring (like headphones from a compact mp3 player) directly to the back of the deck where the harness is.
damn i want music so badly since i didn't hae any through out the summer

Umm, that would destroy your headphones! Try another speaker, hook it directly up to the head unit on the channel you are having a problem with and let us know what happens.

actually i just used the headphones to test if it was the problems from the speakers. I used it because it didn't work initially anyway
thanks guys, i appreciated the help you guys are giving!

So I understand, you installed a HU and a pr of speakers, you are using the OEM radio harness for all the connections, [including speakers], door speakers I assume?
You get sound but very low and only from the right speaker, or is it you get sound from the left speaker but very low output from the right speaker?
When you had the system before, with the 2 amps, and it worked, did you use the HUs internal amp for any of the speakers or was everything running off the amps?
Also, are you using a harness adaptor, or was the OEM radio plug cut off and you are now "hard wiring" the Panasonic HU plug to the OEM radio harness wires?
If you are "hard wiring" do you know for sure what the wire colors are in the OEM radio harness?... http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf
