well i have a pioneer premier (not the crap they sell at best buy) i believe model 720. I got it for 375 (used for a week) at my local shop. It have plenty of visuals, dolphins and wonders of the world as well as other displays. very bright display even in the sun. I happen to like it, you can see the cheaper versions at large retail stores but to get the premier line you have to go to a specialty shop. It has all the outputs i need 3-4 i can't remember, and it has inputs as well. many many tweaks. I am pleased with it.....

CDA-7875 (model up on mine, ie. more flashy)

CDA-7873 (my deck, exact same as above, less flashy)

Both awesome decks in your price range.

Pardon me for sounding like a retard but how does an mp3 deck work?
Does it read mp3's off a cd(which allows you to store more songs on a CD) or off something else like a card for example?

The MP3s are burned onto a CD, but the player need to be able to uncompress it. Panasonic has a new deck which is not only a CD player, but can also hold their properitary memory stick.
generally, the mp3s are stored to a cd, in a folder, just like you would make any other data cd. then, the deck is responsible for reading the filesystem, and decoding the mp3. other than that, its just like a normal cd player. instead of switching discs, you switch folders. and most mp3 players will read the ID3 tags, so you know what song you are on. i have the kenwood mp8017 and i thinks its the best mp3 deck in the $300 bracket. i've had mine for a while now so if you have any questions, i should be able to answer them.
stay away from that xplode tho. there are no on deck controls, everything is remote operated. any higher end alpine series will do. if you can spare the cash the pioneer deh-p 9300 is a great deck. 750ish retail price.
see isnt it pretty? you can upload up to 2 megs of your OWN video. plus it has like 4 video presets. and a grip of other sh*t. hope this helps
