Default Deck Dilemma

I was leaning towards getting an Alpine (CDA9807), but I came across this Panasonic (MXE CQ-HX1083) that I could get a good deal on. Basically my criteria when looking for a deck were only that it have 3 pre-outs of 4Volts or more and be somewhat easy to use. I really like the Alpine - it is sleek and seems relatively simple to use. This Panasonic seems a little more "showy", which I don't need, but can deal with I guess. Bottom line - has anyone had this, or any other Panasonic deck before? What did you like, what didn't you like? I have had JVC, Kenwood, and Pioneer decks before, but no Panasonic.........so I don't know what to expect. I have heard nothing but good things about the Alpine, so I know that is a solid choice.

FYI - I can get the Alpine for about $200
I can get the Panasonic for about $150

Any thoughts?

I would go with the Alpine. I have used/installed both and prefer Alpine hands down.

Thanks, but why?

Opinions are very subjective, I was looking for some "harder" evidence........what do you like? What don't you like?

no motorized face = less parts to break, also that display on the panasonic appears that it will be utter crap in the sunlight. To top it all off, the panasonic looks just plain lame, you will have to look at it to use it, where the alpine can be adjusted w/o taking your eyes off the road.

I'd choose alpine...

panasonic sounds like **** also....I had one and it sounded horrible...I threw a pioneer deck into the car with everything else being the same....it was night and day....a lot louder and clearer...
I would go with the alpine

Thanks again guys...... I am definitely not going to get the Panasonic. I am either going to get an alpine or maybe another Pioneer if I get a real good deal. Take it easy!
