in dash 6 disk changer error
So I've always wanted the in dash changer from honda and I got one on ebay from a 2001 Civic, came with a stock deck and changer!! It was sold as tested and working very well. So I got around to installing it and this is exactly what happens:
lights on the CD changer flash in sequence 1 to 6 from yellow to green for about 30 seconds or so.... all the while, the deck face is displaying "EJECT". I hear a little motorized action inside the cd changer for a brief moment about 1/2 way through. When it all stops, just the #1 light is yellow, and the rest are green. The deck face now shows ERR on it. The cd changer is totally non-responsive. No eject, no lights change color or anything. I opened it up, there are no disks stuck inside, so that's not the problem. I had it all apart to find anything obviously wrong with it... no luck. No leprauchauns hidden inside.
Luckily, I did manage to put everything back together with only the slightest problem with the ribbon cable for the face (anyone that's ever done this prolly knows what I'm talking about). After all that work, it acts the exact same way.
damn ebay scammers.
Anyways, does anyone know what's wrong? Is there a theft code I need??? Or is the unit just FUCT?

I've done searches, most ppl say these units are not servicable.
I've tried to download the owner manuals for other Pioneer products, but no luck cuz the dl's don't seem to work on their site?
Can anyone tell me in general why CD changers would return an ERR message to the deck?

That is why, [even though you pay more] [ you get what you pay for] I always say support your local retail dealer.
