All I can read about it is on their website, which tells you nothing.
How much is it. I dug around on the internet and saw $599 is this true?
Does that include any term of service or is there an additional yearly fee after this?
Can I buy one from a distributor and install myself? (I already have compustar alarm installed by myself)
What computsar models does computrack work with?
I was hoping FCM or WRX-killer-sti-eater would provide some info...but FCM wasn't too helpful so far.....

You need to look at the site a little closer, the only thing I couldn't find was pricing for the CompuTrack, pretty much everything else is there including user manuals and wiring guides for the CompuTrack, all info including MSRP pricing for their alarms, starters and combo units.
As I mention in the IM, contact your local authorized dealer, [also available at the site] for pricing of the CompuTrack.

I can call them but I figured there were people already using it and the dealers (like yourself) are installing them, so they would know.
THey are not that helpful when you tell them you installed it yourself.
U know how much they cost, give me an idea?

Nope, there is a service charge for it like the dei units.
http://www.firstechllc.com/com...s.jpg
And the price is more like 799 uninstalled. So round that up to about 1-1200k for it to be done right. Also this has to be installed by a dealer. And please make sure you by it from a dealer. I am a dealer and I have trouble trying to get things warrantied. So I could imagine what will happen if you bought it off the net and had problems. Compustar has no online dealers. And if you do buy it and it does not work. Compustar is going to tell you to take a hike. And your going to have to deal with who ever you bought it from to get things right. If they even can. That unit has E.S.N. and they know were that unit was suppose to go. If numbers don't match up you S.O.L.

Ditto the above^^^, I haven't been doing Compustar for about 3 years now, so I would trust what wrx-killer-Sti-eater, the CompuTrack should work with any alarm, or stand alone.
Are you saying that the local Compustar dealer would not tell you what the cost of the unit, install and service is for the CompuTrack?
They were not helpful when you told them you installed the alarm yourself, or that you got it from an unauthorized dealer??

for future searchers...I called Compustar.
As of 8/15/07 installed price $649.00
Does not include the service package.
1 yr $138
2 yr $245
3 yr $365
Works with ANY alarm, doesn't have to be Compustar unit.
Now I just gotta find someone who will sell me one!!

You have everything right but the installed price. That's the unit price with out install. Compustar can not say what the unit would cost to install. Because every shop and car is different. If compustar would charge that to install, And I was you. I would rush my car there asap. But that is unlikely

He may be right, Compustar does give installed pricing for their alarms, starters and combo units, with an (*) " MSRP including basic install, depending on car and features, in US dollars ".

I love how they have the wiring guide for "authorized dealers only" but any jo shmo can go to the site and look at them.
Mike, if you get this unit let us know how you like it. I am going to be getting either this or the DEI and would like some comparison information.
