Default compustar vs viper

i'm thinking of getting either a compustar or viper alarm system with pager etc. just wanted to hear the pros and cons on both systems from those of you that have either viper or compustar and any stories where either system has saved your car. thanks

i personally have the new viper790 its been great.. never had a problem w/ it, install went smooth, everything works like every other viper alarm out there.. ive never installed or even used a compustar alarm either but have heard good stuff about them.. i think im biased agianst viper and dei alarms in general cause i install them all day long and i know they are great.. compustar has a great remote starter for a 5spd as where dei doesnt..

I thought the Vipers have remote start as well. Or do you mean especially made for manuals....if so what makes the 5spd remote start different from rigging your 5spd for remote start?

An alarm is an alarm, the difference is in the install. Just find one with features that you like, and DO NOT skimp on the install.

Compustar has protected my R for nearly two years and I still have my car. I wonder if any body has looked to steal my car and saw that I have a compustar and backed off- ( I doubt it but...)

I like all the features that the alarm has and would only change one thing about it- to add a sensor that pics up motion along with the shock sensor...

the compustar has a special feature for 5 spd applications. it basically gurantee's you that your car is in neutral by keeping the car running even without the key in the ignition. Once you get out and close the door the engine will shut down. I have this system and i highly recommend it. i have worked with almost every remotestart system and i really think that the compustar is the way to go.
