compustar remote issue

greetings,

so my 2way pager remote finally gave out as it has been about 4 years after being tossed/thrown/dropped.

the model is 2wssr. i am looking for another page and there is a 2wssr-"pro" for sale.

would i be able to configure the remote to work with the regular 2wssr?

Are the CompuStar Pro remotes series compatible with my current CompuStar system?

A: No, the CompuStar Pro is a new series requiring a new install. Your current CompuStar remote will work with the Pro series but with limited functions

Not sure if it will work the other way around at all or if it is just limited functions.
