i remember reading something in this forum about a guy selling a sound deadening trunk kit that was the same type of thing as the dynamat trunk kit, but for a lot cheaper. any info on an inexpensive trunk kit would be appreciated. thanks.

search on ebay for a seller by the name of Raam. He's a competitor and sells his own sound deadening. It's VERY good. About the same as Dynamat Extreme (alum backed) but is much cheaper. 62.5 sq ft roll for $100. I used to use hi-temp mastic from mcmaster.com, but found out that it's adhesive is crap. Raammat is extrememly sticky, easy to cut, easy to handle (only 12.5" wide) and needs no heat for application.
I've ordered tons (i.e. a few thousand $ of various audio things) through him...very reputable.

I would also recommend trying something called Roxul Safe and Sound. It's used in home/office structures between the walls. It's a wool-based fiber that you stuff in between the outer sheetmetal and inner trim panels; generally from the doorjamb back on a 2-dr. Fairly cheap, very light, and kinda itchy if you don't take precautions. You can find it at some Home Depot/Lowes or other hardware stores or some insulation companies in your phonebook might be able to get some for you. A bundle can do about two cars, costs around $40.
check out b-quiet and cascade. I use cascade on everything. It is very light in weight...very good at not allowing pannels to bubble...and is much cheaper than dynamat extream. check http://www.carstereopro.com/dynamat.html out.

Raamat is good stuff. My old roommate knew the owner personally. Good guy and he has a sweet truck. It was featured in some magazine lately. Raammat is the way to go. I'd prolly go with the 45mm instead of the 60mm but I'm a cheap bastard

Most if not all of the signal processing will remain, along with the Rainbows, and the IDMAXs...the amps will be Arc Audio.
Here's a link to the truck:
