Default cd player won't work....

m cd player has been acting up. It seems to be the wiring harness. If the harness moves, the cd player won't come on. I checked all the fuses and they seem to be okay. I also checked the ignition and ground w/ a multimeter....it gets power.

The wires don't seem to be touching...cause I have my shiftlight connected to the power and ground wires...and it works. So when turning the car on, the only thing that doesn't come on is my cd player. Any help and suggestion would be appreciated. TIA.

First off I need to know what kind of car and cd player you have to really give you an answer. You could check the fuse on the radio itself, or the connections on the accy, 12vt and ground wires too.

Its a pioneer deck...DEH-P7700MP. Using it in my 95 honda civic. I checked the fuse on the deck, its okay. The deck also has a new wiring harness I bought from Best Buy, since the old one wasn't good...and it needed a sub-harness(I think that's what you call it) that my factory harness needs to connect to so it can connect to the deck harness.

I'll try to post a pic up of the wiring this weekend since I'm working out of town.

hoenstly it wouldnt be a fuse if it came on at all. I would re do the 12vt (yellow), accy (red), and the ground (black) connections. Sometimes they will still read the correct voltage.

Check the backup power fuse, normally in engine bay fuse box and normally a 7.5A it powers the yellow constant power lead. 94

okay, I'll check on those. What if nothing is wrong with that fuse and how do I go about re-doing the 12vt, accy, and ground connections??

I don't think you will have to re-do the wires unless there damaged. Are you getting 12volts at both the the acc and ignition wire going to the CD player? If so then thats probably not your problem. Check and make sure you have a good ground as well.
