Default CD Player Runs Hot

I pulled my cd player out the other day after about 5 or 10 minutes of playing, and i couldnt even hold it it was so hot, is anything wrong? What can i do about it if there is something wrong?

PS I forgot to metion that the face will run a little hot after a bit too.

not sure how hot your player was.. but yes they do generally heat up as you have the CD players laser on and motor spinning to spin, the internal amp, and read/play the CD, and also the display/lights/leds whatever on the faceplate.. so yes there is some heat generated from operation... and its pretty enclosed in the DIN location..

If there is an "amp" inside the deck, that's the reason why it's getting hot. It's perfectly normal.

I had a Sony CDX-910 that did this to me. It is now sitting in my living room floor, I haven't had the time to fix it. Usually like everyone else said it is normal. Exspecially if it has a built in amp as previously mentioned.

Are you trying to subs or anything stupid like that. directly off of it? What type of radio is it?

No, i have an amp for my subs, it is a Bluapunkt Cd player running 2 bluapunkt 4x6's and 2 stock 6x9's, i have a different amp for my subs, the amp for my subs does not run hot.

sounds like its breakfast at your place you can cook the eggs on your radios. Both of those radios run very hot.
